Volunteering is one of the most fulfilling ways to fully enjoy and take part in TNO – THE NEIGHBOURHOOD ORGANIZATION. Whether you have one hour or more time to donate, if you are interested in working with children and youth, community economic development, or helping the residents, this is the right place for you.

Areas of volunteer service:

  • Special Community Projects
  • Girls and Women’s  Group
  • Teaching and Tutoring
  • Administration
  • Newcomer Support Services
  • Child & Family Services
  • Computer Classes
  • Job Search Workshop

Volunteers gain from their experience in many ways, such as the following:

  • meet new people and network with other knowledgable peers
  • gain Canadian experience
  • learn transferable skills
  • make a difference in your neighbourhood
  • give back to your community

Our volunteers are provided with:

  • Orientation, training and staff support
  • Program choices
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Volunteer Certificate and Job Reference

To volunteers, we suggest:

  • Attend a New Volunteer Information session – it’s a one hour session that includes general information about TNO – THE NEIGHBOURHOOD ORGANIZAITON and the community.
  • For more information or to sign up for any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@thorncliffe.org
