Youth Job Connection Program


The program serves youth aged 15 to 29 who experience multiple and/or complex barriers to employment by providing more intensive supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities. These include:

  • Paid pre-employment training to promote job-readiness;
  • Job matching and paid job placements, with placement supports for participants and hiring incentives for employers;
  • Mentorship services; and
  • Education and work transitions supports.


Individuals who are:

  • 15-29 years old at the time of registration
  • A resident of Ontario
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Unemployed
  • Not participating in full time training or education


All the potential participants will be accessed using the following indicators:

  • Aboriginal Person
  • Person with disability
  • Age
  • Recent Immigrants
  • Education level attained
  • English/French Proficiency
  • Essential Skills Including literacy
  • Work Experience
  • Family/Household circumstances
  • Socially marginalized
  • Source of Income


All participants are required to participate in the following components:

  • Client Services Planning and coordination
  • Pre- employment Services
  • Job matching, placement and incentive
  • Education and work transitions support


There is no cost for this program. A need assessment is required that focuses on the suitability for this initiative which is geared to individuals requiring support to achieve success in their endeavors to obtain and maintain employment. Participants who do not meet the suitability criteria for Youth Job Connection are still eligible for and will be provided services through regular Employment Services programming.
